On odd numbered years, a very classic and important tradition occurs among the decendants of Wallace Bruce Wright and Emma Moser. This has now gone on for more than 50 years, and drew at least 50 or so from all over the western U.S. This year it was held in Franklin, Idaho, where Wallace's grandmother Deborah is buried.
Our family connection is through Darwin Jay Wright, whose wife Marilyn and daughter Paula (my wife) are shown above at Deborah's grave. Wallace and Emma had 11 children, most of whom were represented today. They are Emma Luella, Wallace Adrian, Milton Moren, Hesden Leo, Vanona, Merlin Andrew, Nevada Evelyn, Donna May, Kenneth Dean, Ronald Wayne, and "Baby Dar"! Only Nevada, now 88 is left. She really looks good and it was fun to hear her stories today.
This year's reunion was planned by Lois Bates, (daughter of Luella), and her children. In this picture we see Marilyn, Lois, and her daughters Laurie and Jamie.
Part of the activities included a presentation by Lois about the family history, and was really helpful in connecting all the families clear back to Scotland, Ireland and England.
The park in Franklin included a museum where a picture of Deborah hangs.
The meal was fun, the company fantastic and even though it was a chilly August day, the feelings were warm!
Jerry and Connie Goodwin with Marilyn. Now living in Blackfoot, Jerry is the son of Vanona.
Here is Dale Murdock son of Luella, with his daughter Debbie Hone from Blackfoot on his left. Dale is living in Mesquite, Nevada. On his right is Rose Wright, widow of Duane, son of Milton. Rose currently lives in Seattle.
Tri Wright, son of Wally (who was also there), son of Adrian is shown here with his wife Connie on his left.(Actually this may be the daughter, although Connie didn't look any older than her daughter!) On his right is Diane Lyman of Jackson Hole and St. George with her mom Nevada. Tri is currently putting together a book on the family and is asking for pictures and information to be e-mailed to him at triwan@aol.com.
Oh yeah, I got 5 more courthouses in northern Utah and southeastern Idaho, including this shot of the historic Cache County Courthouse in Logan, Utah.

Great pictures! I'm sad we missed it. I love hearing stories about Grandpa.
Great post Dad! Wish I could have heard the family history stuff! Thanks for being there. Mom sure is a hottie! Your a lucky guy, and a good shot on the camera catching all those fun moments. Made me miss grandma. I think she was telling a story in one of the pictures, she tells a good story.
Looks like fun, too bad Nancy wasn't there, I'm sure she would made it a lively party. the last courthouse picture is awesome with the gold dome against the sky. hopefully we can get to one of these reunion someday
