March 2013 Hawaii, Family, Birds, River, Mountains, Sunsets and an Easter Egg Hunt

March was another busy one.  Some great weather in Portland as well as a trip to Hawaii.

Hailey rented the local skating rink for a birthday party for the twins.  Great to see the cousins interact.

Alicia's friend from Florida is doing a t-shirt business for girls in the vein of girls who do hard things.  We went out on the river to shoot a few promo shots.  Beautiful March Saturday.

We went to Hawaii to work with Chad Ford at the McKay Center, and with Nathaniel Hanson who was there working on the Kapuna project.  Had a good visit with our friends there.

Some selected birds.

Northern Pintail ( In the Kahuku sewage ponds)

Pacific Golden Plover (including one starting to show breeding plumage)

Ruddy Turnstone (Which we saw on the Seward Peninsula breeding)

Myna

Cattle Egret

An Easter egg hunt with the grandkids was a huge hit.

My daily routine when in Portland is to run over to Winco at lunch for a salad.  The wetland created when the shopping center was built has some great bird life.  A few found there in March.

Mallard Duck

Green Winged Teal

Red Bellied Sapsucker

Grandma and Tulia

Piano Lessons at Sara's house.

A birthday party at the lodge for Jayden

Fun in the backyard at Rainbow.

And a tired Regan waiting for his sister at Piano lessons.

Mike Welch is making progress on the Paula reading panel.

The backyard at Rainbow is ablaze.

The mountains are beautiful

And I am done as was this day.

Whew.
