Halloween?

Kinda snuck up on me! I was in full trial prep for a trial that was supposed to start on Tuesday the 2nd, and just didn't pay attention. Trial got reset to March. Oh well, now we have to go to Hawaii for the BYU meetings!

Lot's has been happening at the farm. Much inside, but I will post about that later. A lot going on outside as well. Here are some pictures.

Nate directing traffic with Hector moving rocks. They traded off, with Nic subbing in as well.

The concrete pumper was incredible. We are really excited about all of the new concrete walkways.

Mike and Chris Cammock have come out from Vermont for a couple of weeks to help us in design of the farm house interior, and for Mike to get familiar with the operations out here. Here Nate is giving them a sense of what we are up to outside.

Apparently the little cutie Lars isn't quite acclimated yet!

Ok, let's do the mystery critter before we go on. I included the hand to show the size of this critter. Found in the church parking lot in Aloha at the Trunk or Treat. Seen at night.

An then I looked up and it was Halloween. Not much of a costume guy myself, but enjoyed looking at the other goof balls. Here is Mike Cammock the pirate descending the stairs at Rainbow like a true debutante.

Can't quite figure out if Nic is scary, or just plain ugly!

Lars and Weston were stylin at the Trunk or Treat. In case you are wondering, Wes is the little sister of a Toucan, an Aricari.

Bree loved that she had a fellow pumpkin in Lars!

All in all it was quite a crew. Alicia and Tucker, Nic and Hailey, Ryan and Katie, Mike and Chris, and Paula.

I really do love this time of year.

Another Round Trip

Another round trip to Windsor, Vermont since the last blog post. Filled with experiences and activities, though not a lot of time to take photos.

Just before we left, Mike Welch finished the last sub-panel for the Farm House. This one shows all 9 of the boys in the family depicted as young bucks. Mike's panels are definitely story panels, and he doesn't know our boys, but captured the many positions, relationships and postures.

Of course, one of the real fun things about going out to New England this time of year is the leaves. This picture is right out the back of Chelle's house at 20 Main in Windsor.

The primary purpose of this visit was to help with the first few really busy weeks at the Inn. The Snapdragon has already taken off, and with several weddings right off the bat, has been a constant round of laundry, check in and check out, and troubleshooting last minute details. All went well, and we are really feeling good about how things are going.

The first big wedding to be held on the grounds was that of Leilani (who did the photo's hanging in the Inn) and Rob from Boston.

This was a true family affair, as shown by the kids enjoying the area behind the tent.

OK, THE MYSTERY CRITTER

This one was seen just at dark behind Chelle's house out near Runnameade Lake. I took the picture with a long lens and strobe. The critter was about 100 feet away, and it was almost dark. What is this critter, including the subspecies?

We had record rain in Vermont while we were there and experienced flooding in a number of area's. One farmer up river had tens of thousands of pumpkins float away from the field. The students from Dartmouth on the crew teams went out into the river and harvested pumpkins for team fund razing purposes. It was funny to see pumpkins floating down the river.

One of the all time cute members of the cousin crew in Windsor is Lars, the son of Mike and Chris Cammock. Last time we were there I caught him in one of the nooks in the library. This time he was hiding under the inn keepers desk!

Meanwhile, progress continues on the farmhouse and Paula is pretty happy to see the doors get finished!
