Or for that matter one of the Larson brother cousins (here Lars) covered head to toe in mud. They really do have a mud season in Vermont!
This female Common Merganser was headed out over the lake with her prize!

The Hooded Mergansers are my favorites among all of the ducks.
The Eastern Phoebe is the first of the flycatchers to return.

And of course the Tom Turkeys are strutting their stuff for the ladies.
One of the most amazing finds was this giant Snapping Turtle. This critter was 3 to 4 feet from nose to tail!
Out across the lake behind Michelle's house is a pagoda on a bit of a peninsula. Look carefully at the log to the right of the pagoda down near the water.
Just walking around town is so interesting to look up and see the variety of landscapes.
We love this place and love seeing the family when we are here.
